King William is a towering man. Striking an imposing figure that demands attention when he enters the room. Commanding he is big in spirit and stature. His gaze is hard, calculating. But softens and lightens the instant he sees any one of his daughters. Before he was quick to laugh and smile. Now his rich laughter hardly fills the palace halls. The stress of ruling and the recent loss of his wife, coupled with the kidnapping of his daughter has aged the mane. His hair is quickly losing color. Smile lines are replaced with more and more frown lines. His air is entirely stern.
Personality Description:
The great monarch is a cunning man. He is a big characters. Confident, smart, and has a great laugh. To his men his is a stern, fierce leader that commanded respect not only through his rank, but actions. To his family he is a doting father, a loving husband. A fire that is both fierce and warm. Over time his lust for power and stress of rule changed him. He has begun to descend in madness. Giving into the whispers of paranoia. He only trusts his family, the Head Chancellor and Mathias Truslow . There are few who are held within his ring of most trusted and it is unlikely any will be added as he becomes more and more paranoid. More and more distrusting of magic.
Due to the death of his wife and abduction of his dearest daughter, he has become far more protective of his other children. To the point he is overbearing and even manic. Despite him losing grasp on his sanity he is still smart. Dangerously so. He does not laugh very often anymore. He is stern, suspicious, untrusting. Cold and decisive he has never hesitated to do what ever is necessary to get what he wants. No matter how long it takes.
To his children he is still a doting father. he does his best to take interest in everything they have an interest in. Though at times it is hard and he is left not entirely understanding everything, he does his best to learn so he can better bond with them. Often getting overly excited and offering inputs or ideas that he may have had or come across. He will never hesitate to spoil them, scold them, love them, or lend them an ear. He adores his children, Eloise being his particular favorite (Shh, don't tell the others).
History
King William St. Germaine. The one who destroyed the powerful magic users in one fell swoop to ensure his complete power. Before that he was a young ambitious prince. Proving his strength through deeds, earning the respect of his men through actions. His cunning and wit earned him much loyalty. He grew up among the imbalance of political power. Through this he gained a mistrust of magic. Especially when he witnessed one gone rogue, the destruction they caused. He saw the huge gap in power and despised it, envied it. But he bided his time. His father had done little to change the balance. His father was far too weak. His attempt to balance things was far too weak, to peaceful. It did nothing. Again William bided his time, waiting for the opportune moment. He studied those born with magic. Learning of their strengths, their weaknesses.
Before he had even begun to take the thrown he sent his plans in motion to restore that balance. No, to take control and take all of the power for himself. He took a far more, extreme approach than his father. Enlisting the help of Mathias Truslow to create his army of cyborgs to destroy the mages and alchemists. During this time he took the hand of his late wife and began having his own children. He met his beloved during a spring garden party. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. So smart she matched him wit for wit. She was his other half, his better half. The temper to his steel. He instantly began courting her. It took a whole year before she agreed to marry him. Despite his persistence.
She gave them their first daughter. His dear, sweet Eloise. The light of his life. He has been a loving father, ever involved in their lives. At least, as involved as a king can be. He was thrilled when they had their second child, a son! Lawrence, the princess he holds at possibly an unfair higher standard than his younger brother. His beautiful wife gave him 3 more lovely children. He loves all of them. Though Eloise is certainly the one he is closest to. Though he has strived to bond with each child, he hasn't be able to help the fact that he has been distant at times. Unable to go to them when they needed him due to his duties. But as a father and king, he has done his best.
At the birth of Eloise, he became more invested in taking down the mages and alchemists. He sought the power even more. Sought to destroy the ones thing that could destroy his family with a single thought. Now, it was not only power that he sought. But insurance for his family. He was the one who ordered the massacre of the magically gifted. He does not regret it. He despises magic users. Even more so now that his daughter has been taken by the Left Hand. He will save her. He will destroy every last man, woman and child that holds her captive.
