Physical Description: Arasmus stands at six feet, and five inches tall. He weighs one-hundred-and-forty-five pounds, and looks quite young for his physical age of one-hundred-and-thirty-two. He can often be found wearing nice, tailored suits--yes, tailored. Arasmus may be a known magic user, and therefore automatically placed into the impoverished caste, but he comes from a family of money--and does not fear showing that fact. It also helps that he has access to the strongest Alchemist still alive, and their wares go for quite a bit. Whereas many would expect him to look like a barbarian, due to some... well-said rumors, or perhaps disguises that were well-placed, Aramus actually keeps his hair tidy and short, to his shoulders. He has a nature wave to his light brown tresses. His face is never cleanly shaved. His eyes are a dark hue of brown, almost appearing black. If one ever catches Arasmus without his shirt, they will see a variety of scars--that seem to be bite-marks-- littering his torso.

Personality Description: Aramus is a man who uses any means necessary to get what he wants. He is a natural leader, and family is paramount, whether they are blood-kin or magic-kin (members of The Left Hand). He comes from a long line of Nyler's, stemming from his namesake, Erasmus. He has no doubt the Nyler family is superior, in magic and in everything else. Aramus is a man who deals in the darker side of things more than he would like; but he will not stop until magic users are once again without oppression. And he is an extremely promiscuous man, despite having found his Herz; he prefers his harem of women and men, many of whom he cares for in some way--some more than others.

History

When Erasmus Nyler's daughter, Geneva, gave birth to her first child, her creator was thrilled.When time passed, and Erasmus became too frail to continue, Geneva took his life. Killing one of the most infamous mages alive... that was a feat., and showed just how heartless Geneva could be. Her own father. Dead, by her teeth. She would later be spoken about in stories to her grandchildren, who would never get to meet her or her Herz, Stephanos.

Geneva and Stephanos only had one living child, that was ever recorded. Juliette. Juliette had two children, Hailey and Jonathon. Jonathon married a non-blutsauger, who happened to be his Herz, but Hailey never found hers. Trinity, Jonathon's wife, gave birth to one child that survived infancy, Serena. Serena was born as a human, and caught lycanthropy from one of her partners. Her son, Whitley, was born a lycanthrope, while her daughter, Sarabeth was not.

Sarabeth's marriage to a blutsauger, a man named Pikney, was welcomed by her mother with bright smiles. Sarabeth gave birth to one perfectly healthy blutsauger child, dying in childbirth. Pikney raised his daughter, Delpha, to the best of his abilities--it definitely helped that he shared a race with his daughter, whereas he had not shared a race with his wife.

Delpha never found her Herz, but while trying, she gave birth to three children. Stephanos, a human; Arasmus, a blutsauger; and Minera, also a blutsauger. When the children were still young, Delpha had started a group of magic users called The Left Hand. It was simply a group to ensure that alchemists and mages could share grimoires and kits. Delpha wanted to see the magic users flourish.

As such, when Delpha died Arasmus took over the group, he believed that magic users should have a pooled resource, as his mother had. And for years the magic group lived peacefully, meeting three times a week to exchange ideas, grimoires, kits and even just educate their young ones.

Until one night... the night that the King declared war upon the magic users of the realm. The Left Hand became more than just a group of friends, who were like family. As the magic district was destroyed around them, with the King's new race of Cyborgs hot on their tail, The Left Hand took action, led by Arasmus.He led them into a war that they had not been prepared for--not completely. He had known, due to contacts in the Royal Court, that there was unrest from the non-magic populace. However, he did not anticipate that it would create the tension needed to bring war upon his people. And by war? Massacre, genocide.

Half of The Left Hand took children, grimoires, alchemy kits, and journals and fled through underground tunnels that had been developed by Delpha, in case of emergency, she had always said. Nobody had ever realized what kind of emergency the wise Nyler woman meant. The stronger half helped those who needed it, to flee, and then rejoined their leader in battle. They were to follow the map, which they were then to burn. It would take them to the Fhuroi Falls, a place that Delpha had taken her children when they were young. Arasmus was down half of his people, but they were safe--and their magic sources were safe; or so he thought.

Out of the people left fighting beside him, Arasmus and three other people managed to escape the massacre. They fled the capitol using all of their means, fleeing on foot--and then upon horseback, when someone who felt for the magic users (perhaps because they had some in the family) gave them horses. It took them days to reach Fhuroi Falls.

Upon arrival, Arasmus and his second-in-command were distraught by what they saw. Only half of their members had actually made it to the Falls. The king's men had destroyed the tunnel, trapping The Left Hands weaker members beneath the dust. However, Arasmus did not deem it necessary to go back. He couldn't save them all, he had yet to peak with his abilities. So, he began to study--to learn--and eventually as the years went by, worked his way to Magister.

Armed with every available grimoire he could currently obtain, ones that had survived the massacre, and others that people had sold or brought to him on the new Underground route, he began to plan. The best way to get back at the King, for taking people he thought of as family...?

Take his family. It took him two years to decide which child of the St. Germaine family to take, and The Left Hand came to a consensus. They would infiltrate the palace on the evening of the Crowned Princess Eloise St. Germaine 's birthday. However, it would take them two more years before they were able to actually put this plan to work.

When the time came, Arasmus and a group of the undead entered the palace. Arasmus was to get the princess, and his army of the dead were to disable the guards on-duty. The commotion his creations made allowed him to convince the princess that they were evacuating the palace.

Once outside of her room, however, he jerked Eloise against his chest, carrying her practically bridal-style, and teleported from the palace. They returned to the Falls, where Arasmus's arrival was awaited with great anticipation. His people cheered, and were overjoyed that the King would know some semblance of their pain, but Arasmus was not aware of their cheers.

Instead, the man was staring down at the woman in his arms. His hand had secured itself against her chest, to keep her in his arms during teleportation--and her heartbeat... beat in time with his own. In that moment, all of his uncertainty and despair at being alone, one-hundred-and-twelve years of searching...were over.

It was in this moment that Arasmus realized he could never let Eloise go.

Key:

m. does not mean married--it means mated. With blutsauger, this is assumed to with their Herz, but is not always, and they do not always marry by traditional standards. For those parents without a mate, it is assumed that each child had a different gene-pool.

Last Names--the family always reverts back to Nyler for their children, unless they are married. Then the child takes the father's name. However if they are unmarried and have a different maiden name, they will give their children the Nyler name. It marks them as being members of a large clan.

A Note On Children: Arasmus has been actively searching for his Herz in a typically sexual manner for the last 120 years. As such, he has many children--his eldest children can be around 110 years of age and are most likely blutsauger (unless otherwise specified). His youngest ones are about nine months in age. When it comes to family dynamics, the Left Hand is mostly made up of magic users, however some of Arasmus's children's mother's are in his "harem", whether he is sexual with them or not (and the most likely answer is he is not, if they have given him a child). This is due to the fact Arasmus protects family--and any woman who has birthed him a child is considered family.
