THE CROWN
The Crown is made up of the royal family, and most non-magic users. Cyborgs are almost always loyal to the Crown.The Crown overturned the magic users from their position in the upper-crust of society (essentially ruling society) twenty years ago at the order of King William St. Germaine . The Massacre was an event where King William unveiled his newly created Cyborgs, who were the only soldiers he had that could defeat some of the older magicians.
Now, twenty years later, the Crown supports the advancement of technology, and keeps the magic users under their thumb by bringing forth stronger technology. However, the Crown has recently suffered a great loss in their Crowned Princess, Eloise St. Germaine . The succession is at risk of changing hands, and the people are afraid. If the Left Hand can get a hold of their princess...
What's to stop them from getting everyone else?
THE LEFT HAND
The Left Hand is made up of the entire Nyler family, and most magic users. Anyone with magic is almost always loyal to the Left Hand. The Left Hand was once a peaceful group, cult-like in nature, led by Delpha Nyler and later after her death, Arasmus Nyler . It started out simply as a safe-haven for magic users to share their grimoires, alchemy kits and general knowledge. A way to truly educate their children. When the Massacre happened, Arasmus managed to smuggle about half of his group through underground tunnels that Delpha had created on the off-chance of needing an escape. Arasmus had always thought his mother was paranoid--but now, he understood.
However, they were not quite successful. The tunnels were collapsed, killing half of the people Arasmus had sent into them. This later forced them to have to rebuild, as the King ensured the original tunnels were not accessible. Those who survived would find that Arasmus became darker; more focused... The Crown had killed his family members, destroyed his home, and on top of that--managed to destroy half of their knowledge.
Now, twenty years later, the Left Hand has the princess in their possession, and they plan to show the king exactly what their pain felt like...
But... in doing so, Arasmus found his Herz. Can one woman make Arasmus turn against his family, his people?
